Under the Covers is a cover band based out of Minneapolis, MN, and plays a wide variety of popular rock, top 40, and pop songs. 

Headlined by singer Dani Heinert, with vocal assistance from other band members, Under the Covers is in the unique position to offer songs originally made popular by both male and female artists. Keyboard player Wayne Spangler expands the sonic range and ability of the band, allowing our performances to be more faithful to the original track than a band without keys. Drummer Ryan Lorenson and Bassist David Vanderwarn lock in to hold down a driving, yet meticulous rhythm section to elevate the melodic players in the band, and give the audience a consistent groove that feels natural to dance to. 

Catching a performance by Under the Covers feels a lot like sitting down with a group of your friends, and exploring each other’s favorite songs. Passing an aux cord around your group of friends on a road trip, or taking turns dropping vinyl on a turntable. Our setlist is made up of songs that are truly special to each member, and that enthusiasm to share our favorite music with the audience is palpable at our shows. 

While anyone will find themselves at home at an Under the Covers show, the Friday and Saturday night bar crowd will identify closest with our set. Our audience generally consists of those enjoying their college years to folks well into their forties and fifties (and beyond), and you can always find someone singing the words right back to us. 

When you see an Under the Covers show, you will be treated to an evening of music and banter that everyone will enjoy together, in the same community moment. You’ll sing, dance, drink, and if we’re lucky, cry with passion when you see us play.
